Henry Wakefield – Plumbing Innovator and Visionary Leader

Born on July 23, 1983, in Garland, Texas, Henry Wakefield is more than just a name; he’s a symbol of determination and innovation. Growing up with two younger sisters, Henry’s sense of responsibility and leadership began at an early age.

A Family Legacy and an Early Start
Henry’s journey into the world of plumbing started at the young age of 13, working alongside his family while also managing a role at a trophy shop. Summers were spent mastering the craft, where he engaged in the intricate work of roughing in and topping out plumbing in residential homes.

Education and Early Beginnings
Henry proudly graduated from Garland High School as a mighty owl, class of ’01. His path soon led him into the world of plumbing, where he began his career at just 13 years old. A marriage during his senior year marked a significant chapter in his life.

From Apprentice to Estimator
In early 2002, Henry embarked on a journey in the union as a plumbing apprentice, eventually switching to pipefitting the following year. His dedication led to the achievement of a welding certification, although his passion lay more in the art of pipefitting. Over nearly 20 years in the union, Henry contributed to major plumbing and pipefitting projects, honing his skills alongside the industry’s best.

A Visionary in the Making
For the last 13 years in the union, Henry worked for the largest MEP contractor in Texas. His ascent from a dedicated worker to superintendent and later into the office, where he served as a senior estimator in the industrial group, showcased his exceptional leadership and expertise.

The Leap into Entrepreneurship
In early 2022, Henry took a leap of faith. He left the corporate world to join forces with his father, Roger Wakefield, known as the plumbing YouTuber. Together, they set out to revolutionize the industry with Leak Pro. A month-long journey to California honed Henry’s skills in equipment manufacturing and water leak detection under slabs.

Building a Legacy with Leak Pro
Back in Texas, Henry and Roger relocated Leak Pro to Wylie and established a state-of-the-art training center for slab leak detection in water and sewer. Henry’s passion for building and teaching found its perfect outlet as he manufactured equipment and trained individuals in leak detection.

The Gamer, Cyclist, and Whiskey Enthusiast
Beyond the world of plumbing and entrepreneurship, Henry has always been a gamer and an avid cyclist. His love for cycling has seen him pedal for charity, including a 75-mile journey for Bike MS. His typical ride, however, is a scenic 25-mile route around White Rock Lake in Dallas. With a touch of Irish heritage, he occasionally enjoys sipping whiskey with a hint of pineapple.
